How do you get a widescreen ratio for super 8?
Is there like a type of film or a a type of lens or something?
Do you just have to pretend it's widescreen and convert it on the computer?
Thanks

Basically, you have the same options as they do in 16mm or 35mm:
1. Anamorphic.
2. Crop to a wideer aspect ratio (now, with S8, usually done in software after transferring to video).
The other option is UltraSuper8. (There are lots of posts in the past on this board on this topic).
You have the camera gate widened, so you are getting image where the sound stripe used to be.
It doesn't add enough to make the image 16x9, or 1:85.1, but it is a little wider, and anything helps.
This is what I've done to all my cameras.

Widening the gate? Sounds tricky can you damage your pride and joy in the process? Would hate to ruin a good camera for a couple of millimetres but have thoght about ways to get a more cinematic ratio.
